I’m always on the hunt for the best, quickest, most delicious and easiest way to get more nutrition in my body every day. This smoothie recipe is one of the best I’ve ever found. It’s a perfect way to start each day on the path to better health.
You probably heard of the importance of eating a well-balanced breakfast each morning, but sometimes you don’t have the time or the energy to do so. This wonderfully creamy, rich and delicious smoothie provides all the nutrients of the well-balanced breakfast. It’s rich in protein, fiber, iron, calcium, potassium, magnesium, vitamins and more! The best part is that it takes only a few minutes to make.
Easy Breakfast Smoothie
Ingredients:
( makes 1 large glass)
1/4 cup rolled oats ( not instant oatmeal)
1 cup of water
1 tsp. ground flax seed
1 large handful of almonds (dry-roasted are the best)
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
1 frozen banana
optional: 1 tsp of maple syrup
Directions:
Combine oats, water and ground flaxseed in a blender and let sit for 5 minutes. Add all other ingredients and blend until smooth. If the mixture is too thick, add a bit more water. Drink and enjoy!
