Healthy Smoothie!
Are you looking for a quick, healthy, simple breakfast or meal?
Here are some of our favorite delicious and nutritious smoothie recipes that will help boost your energy and have you feeling great all day long.
These nutrient-packed smoothie recipes will jump start your body and provide your body with many essential antioxidants, omega-3 fats, vitamins, minerals and enzymes.
First let’s take a closer look at some awesome healthy ingredients that can be added to any smoothie recipe. These are all highly nutrient dense ingredients and all whole foods.
Coconut
Coconut water is a natural isotonic beverage and loads the body with electrolytes. It purifies the intestines while kick starting your metabolism. You can get it from fresh baby coconuts which can be found at most health food stores and almost any asian market or grocer.
You can also get Coconut milk at the store, but the fresh coconut is better as its raw and maintains all the healthy phytonutrients and enzymes.
Hemp Seeds
Hemp seeds are easily digestible and a highly absorbable source for protein, amino acids and essential fatty acids (EFA’s). They make a great complement to salads as well.
You can also get hemp oil at the store or order it online here. The omega-3s and essential fatty acids contained in hemp seed oil are required in our diet more than many other nutrients, yet our bodies do not naturally produce them. The ratio of these omegas is crucial and using hemp as your source is most ideal for the body.
Cacao
Does your mouth water at the thought of chocolate? Not only does RAW cacao beat the other highest sources of antioxidants, it also contains an impressive percent of our daily value of iron in one ounce! When we use raw cacao, we get the rich chocolate taste and the super food nutrition it offers.
Juice Plus+ Complete
Juice Plus+ is food and provides the body with phytonutrients and enzymes from 28 vine ripened fruits, veggies and berries. Small batch testing insures this concentrated food powder is free of pesticide, herbicide, fungicide, molds, bacteria, mildew, radiation and heavy metals. This option bridges the gap between the amount of raw produce we are able to consume everyday and the amount suggested to prevent disease.
I open the Juice Plus+ capsules and empty the juice powders into my smoothies.
You can also get a Juice Plus+ Complete Smoothie mix in vanilla and chocolate. The Complete has 11 grams of plant-based protein per 100 calories (from water-washed soy, peas, chickpeas, tofu, rice, algae, and other plant sources). It has almost 7 grams per 100 calories in a healthful blend of soluble and insoluble fibers from apples, corn, rice and other plant sources. It has less than 1/2 gram of fat per 100 calories and only 8 grams per 100 calories from organic sugar cane, monk fruit, stevia and other plant sources.
The Complete also has all-natural plant sources of slow releasing, low-glycemic index carbohydrates include quinoa, amaranth, and millet in a proprietary blend of “ancient grains” that have been cultivated for centuries.
You can order the Juice Plus+ Complete shake online.

Always purchase organic & local whenever possible. Google the dirty dozen list to see an updated list of the most important organic produce choices to avoid the conventional produce that contains the most pesticides.
